Senior Product Developer
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Product Developer to join our Product Creation team, responsible for developing high-performance sportswear across a wide range of products within our portfolio. In this role, you will lead the development of innovative, functional products that meet the needs of our diverse customer base.
You will be directly responsible for collaborating with vendors to ensure that product fit, quality, pricing and timelines are consistently met. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including design, production, and sustainability—you will help ensure that our products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, brand identity, pricing, and sustainability goals.
As an important member of the team, your expertise and experience will contribute to refining and improving our ways of working. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across all our renowned brands, helping to drive their ongoing success.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Develop products in line with brand design directions and target costs in collaboration with designer.
- Deliver products that meet brand quality standards, fit, and function.
- Manage the product development process from prototype to pre-production samples, including tech pack creation, fit sessions, prototype reviews, costing, and daily vendor communication.
- Collaborate with vendors to create prototypes and resolve technical challenges throughout the development process.
- Ensure tech packs are accurate and up to date, leading to the production of high-quality finished products.
- Review costs critically and work with vendors to adjust pricing to meet target costs through clear communication.
- Conduct vendor visits as needed.
- Act as a key member of the design and product development team, attending relevant meetings.
Key Qualifications:
- 3+ years of higher education with garment construction or textiles.
- 8+ years relevant experience in product development sport/fashion, production or merchandising.
- Demonstrated expertise in building strong, collaborative relationships with international vendors and effectively navigating cultural differences. Experience working with Vietnam and Bangladesh is an asset.
- Strong expertise in garment fitting, pattern making, and size development.
- Strong understanding of sportswear construction, manufacturing, and industry standards.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, PLM and Microsoft 365.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
