ESG Specialist

Active Brands is on an ambitious Sustainability journey, and we’re seeking an enthusiastic ESG Specialist to join our team in Oslo. This is an opportunity to play a key role in advancing our sustainability efforts while ensuring we stay ahead of evolving Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) regulations.
About the role:
As an ESG Specialist, you’ll contribute directly to Active Brands’ ESG strategy and help us drive progress toward achieving our Sustainability and compliance goals. You will work closely with our brands to improve their environmental and social impact, support customers in meeting their ESG commitments, and ensure readiness for upcoming regulations.
Your main focus will be on certification compliance, data collection, and structuring related to regulatory frameworks (including CSRD, EPR reporting, ESPR). You’ll play a crucial role in tracking the company’s climate transition plan and other key ESG performance indicators, supporting our customers with product data and reporting, and contributing to the review and execution of our ESG action plans. You’ll also have a key role for monitoring global sustainability trends and regulations, assessing their impact on the brands and company, and contributing to the development of strategies to address key areas of concern and opportunities as needed.
In this cross-functional role, you’ll collaborate internally across departments, engage in external networks, and work closely with your fellow team members to achieve impactful results.
The role reports to the ESG Manager in the company.
To succeed as an ESG Specialist at Active Brands, we expect you to bring the following qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in ESG or Sustainability, ideally within the textile and/or outdoor and sport industries.
Skills & Expertise:
- Knowledge and experience of GHG emissions accounting and other environmental KPIs.
- Experience with certification management (e.g. certifications relevant to apparel/textiles).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance for Europe (and preferably the US), particularly in apparel, sports, and outdoor equipment.
- Understanding of chemical aspects related to textiles is a plus.
- Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; Power BI experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
